Coconut Chutney


Ingredients:

1 Cup grated coconut 
1 tsp roasted chana dal
2 tsp Urad dal
1/2 tsp tamarind chutney
2 Dry red chillies
Curry leaves
Asafoetida
1-2 Green chillies
1 Small piece ginger
Cumin seeds
Salt
Water
2-3 tsp oil

Method:

Take a coconut and add roasted dal, urad dal, green chilli, ginger, tamarind paste,salt in the grinding jar.

Grind everything nicely to a smooth paste.
While grinding, if you want you can add some fresh coriander as well.
Add some water and grind it again.
 If you want, you can grind it coarsely. Depending on what texture for the chutney you want.

Once done take out the paste in a bowl.
For tempering, in a tadka pan add oil, cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chilli, asafoetida. Roast everything for a minute.

Add the tadka to the chutney and mix it well.

Adjust salt as per your taste.
Your coconut chutney is ready, Enjoy!!


Note:
You can add Peanuts instead of chana dal or urad dal or you can use only roasted chana dal as well.
We are using it to give texture or thick consistency to our chutney.
If you don't want some sour taste to your chutney you can skip tamarind, but suggest to use to as it will give nice touch to chutney.
